For Pennsylvania’s future economy, the state needs a multilingual workforce that is able to compete in interconnected global markets, participate in meaningful ways in civic life, engage with diverse local communities, and cultivate professional and personal networks that cross linguistic, cultural, and national boundaries. The PA Language Summit aims to develop a roadmap to better meet these needs for a multilingual workforce by strengthening and promoting language education for all students.
The PA Language Summit will be made up of stakeholders from Pennsylvania’s business, human service, K–16 education, community, and government sectors who will identify Pennsylvania’s current and future multilingual workforce needs and discuss language and cultural competencies and their role in the state’s economic success.
Hosted by the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association
